HINDI matanggap ng liderato ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang resulta ng survey ng Pulse Asia kung saan halos 90 porsyento sa mga Pinoy ay kontra na amyendahan ang 1987 Constitution.

Ganito inilarawan ni ACT Teacher Party-list Rep. France Castro ang reaksyon ng administration congressmen dahil kinuyog ng mga ito ang nasabing survey firm.

“There seems to be a concerted effort to discredit the Pulse Asia survey saying that an overwhelming majority of Filipinos are strongly against Charter change,” obserbasyon ng mambabatas.

Bago ito, kinastigo ng ilang administration congressmen ang Pulse Asia dahil ‘misleading’ umano ang tanong sa nasabing survey kaya lumabas na halos 90 porsyento ng mga Pilipino ay kontra sa economic Charter change (Cha-cha).

“The wording of the questions used by Pulse Asia seemed designed to lead respondents towards a particular viewpoint on Charter amendments,” ani House Assistant Majority Leader Jil Bongalon.

“The survey questions, particularly those addressing contentious issues such as term extension, foreign exploitation of natural resources, and a shift from a presidential to a parliamentary system of government, may have inadvertently skewed responses and fostered opposition to Cha-cha,” ayon naman kay La Union Rep. Paolo Ortega V.

Ganito rin ang reaksyon nina House Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., at Deputy Speaker David Suarez at iba pang mga lider ng Kamara, dahil isinama ang ibang usapin sa tanong tulad ng political provisions amendment gayung economic provisions lamang umano ang kanilang isinusulong na amyendahan.

“This Pulse Asia survey is riddled with questions and scenarios that spread fear among Filipinos about Cha-cha. By this reason alone, the survey results are invalid, unfair, and inapplicable to the current situation,” ayon naman kay Tingog Party-list Rep. Jude Acidre.

Ipinagtanggol naman ni Castro ang Pulse Asia sa pagsasabing walang mali sa mga tanong sa survey at hindi lang umano matanggap ng liderato ng Kamara na 3 sa bawat 4 na Pinoy ay kontra na amyendahan ang Saligang Batas.

Ang Pulse Asia survey ay inilabas matapos ipagbunyi ng Kamara ang Tangere survey na nagsasabing 54% sa mga respondent ay pabor sa Cha-cha. Kung may plano aniyang suriing mabuti ang isinagawa ng una ay dapat ding busisiin ang huli.
